We have studied by means of High Resolution Magic Angle Spinning Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (HR-MAS NMR) the metabolic profile of the famous Sicilian lemon known as 'Interdonato Lemon of Messina PGI'. The PGI Interdonato Lemon of Messina possesses high organoleptic and healthy properties and is recognised as one of the most nutrient fruits. Considering that the determination of authenticity and of the geographical origin of food is a very challenging issue, in this study we studied by means of histological and histochemical analyses the famous Sicilian lemon known as ‘Interdonato Lemon of Messina PGI’. Since the protected geographical indication Interdonato lemon of Messina possesses high organoleptic properties, the composition of the hexane extract of lemon peel was determined by HRGC and HRGC–MS analyses and compared with that of lemon of different cultivars. Effects of network market orientation on new ventures' international performance

By combining international entrepreneurship and marketing aspects, this work attempts to emphasise the importance of relational knowledge in international new ventures by studying the influence of network market orientation on the international results obtained by these firms. The results obtained in the comparison with the proposed structural equations model confirm that network market orientation is a determining factor for firms to achieve better international results. This influence is observed both directly and indirectly with the mediating effect on the differentiation– and cost–based competitive advantages developed by INVs.
A Lisrel Model for Country Risk Assessment

As German industry is very much export-oriented, country risk assessment is a major problem in international marketing for German suppliers. The data from several country risk assessment indicator concepts were collected and put into a LISREL model to test which hypothesized relationships between the measured variables and hypothetical constructs can be empirically proved. A structural equation model will be developed to be able to test the causal relationships between the hypothetical constructs over time (multi-wave, multi-variable model).

Pricing and infrastructure fees in shaping cooperation in a model of high-speed rail and airline competition

Abstract This paper studies the effects of cooperation in a hub-and-spoke network with high-speed rail and airline competition. The distinctive elements of our analysis are the consideration of: (i) per-passenger airport and rail infrastructure fees; (ii) mixed bundling pricing by partners, and (iii) an airline duopoly in the international market. We show that partners fix the cheapest bundle price of the combined trip, that non-allied operators respond by decreasing the prices per link, and that connecting traffic increases. Testing price-fixing agreements in a multimarket context: The European case of vitamin C

In this paper, we suggest a method to test price-fixing agreements. Prices fixed to multiple shipments are decomposed into a set of destination market effects and time effects in order to allow us to perform an analysis of residuals. We examine the pricing behavior of vitamin C in the European destination markets of German exports. We explore two different periods: January 1991–August 1995 and September 1995–September 2001. Empirical results on the first period, which are consistent with our knowledge obtained from firms’ confessions about illegal agreements, contrast notably with those obtained on the more recent period.
